Position Pay Range

$35.50 - $45.80 | As-Needed Shifts

Summary/Objective

Performs routine and diagnostic exams relating to breast anatomy to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions
  1. Interacts with patients to gather medical history, provides instructions and explanations of procedures, and educates on breast self-examination as needed.
  2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information or consent, and screens for surgical implants, allergies, etc.
  3. Obtains prior imaging as needed and performs high-quality scans for radiologist interpretation.
  4. Attends to patient care before, during, and after exams, notifying relevant personnel if patient condition changes.
  5. Transfers images to other locations as required.
  6. Coordinates procedure protocols with Radiologist.
  7. Maintains and inspects equipment regularly, reporting concerns or failures immediately.
  8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding departmental concerns.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Operates in an outpatient clinical environment with potential exposure to radiation, bodily fluids, and other hazards. May require working in cool, dimly lit rooms.

Physical Demands

May exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and frequently up to 30 pounds, with regular use of hands and fingers, and the ability to see close and focus.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience
  • Two+ years in Mammography (preferred)
  • Ability to educate patients
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, problem solver, team player
  • Proficient with computer navigation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Education/Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
  • Current ARRT certification and Mammography registry
  • Completion of 40 hours mammography orientation
  • 8 hours of 3D tomosynthesis training (if applicable)
  • State medical license (if applicable)
  • CPR/BLS certification
Additional Qualifications

None required.
