Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Radiologic Technologist specialized in Mammography at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. The role involves screening and diagnostic mammograms per MQSA and ARRT guidelines, with Saturday rotation and days schedule.

Requirements include an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, 1–2 years radiologic experience, and mammography certification; strong communication and patient-care skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA Approved Program in Radiologic Technology.
• 1 - 2 years experience as Radiologic Technologist or sonographer.
• Graduate of a Mammography certified program.
• Knowledge of breast anatomy.
• Need to recognize patients experiencing fear or anxiety.
• Needs to be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care in accordance with department/hospital standards.
• Accurately labels and identifies all images.
• Applies radiation protection to patient per standards.
• Documents patient history and clinical information using forms and database; participates in advanced mammographic procedures such as wire localizations, galactograms, stereotactic biopsy and specimen radiographs.
• Must demonstrate proper use of all procedural equipment.
• Discuss reporting structure to physician for the patient.
• Serve as liaison to patient for additional information and resources beyond mammography.
• Provide pre/post procedure education and instruction to patients.
• Document and transport specimens to pathology; perform QA testing per MQSA standards.
