Job summary

Qualifications

• Current State of Texas license as a Radiology Technologist.
• ARRT mammography registry or registry eligible; must pass within 12 months of hire date.
• Licensure requirements – 15 mammography direct CEU credits in rolling 3-year period in addition to 24 CEU for ARRT.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist.
• Documented 40 hours of mammography training and completion of 25 exams under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Practices technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts; uses equipment and accessories as designed and employs procedures accordingly.
• Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; acts in the best interest of the patient.
• Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in diagnosis and treatment; recognizes interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice.
• Minimizes radiation exposure to patient, self and healthcare team; uses equipment and techniques per standard of practice.
• Radiology Career Ladder processes to recognize excellence and advancement opportunities; documentation and approvals required for ladder levels.
