Qualifications

• ARRT registration or eligibility is required.
• Texas Medical Board license is required.
• CV or VI registry must be obtained within 3 years of employment in Interventional Radiology.
• ACLS and PALS are required within 1 month of employment in Interventional Radiology.
• Total Joint and Spine Center initial and annual education: 1.5 hours.
• Six hours of hospital-provided continuing education annually for Advanced Sterile Processing Certification focusing on instrument decontamination, transport, and reprocessing.

Responsibilities

• Practices technology grounded in theoretical knowledge and concepts, uses equipment and accessories as designed, and employs procedures and techniques appropriately.
• Assesses situations, exercises care and judgment, and assumes responsibility for professional decisions in the patient’s best interest.
• Acts to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid diagnosis and treatment, recognizing that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
• Uses equipment and techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Radiology Career Ladder policy recognizes professional excellence and outlines evaluation and advancement processes.
