Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including bone densitometry, under Radiologist supervision. The role emphasizes quality image production, patient safety, and coordination with the Radiology team.

You will support student supervision, participate in cross-training, and help ensure timely reporting of results and compliance with MQSA and ACR guidelines.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Radiologic Technologist and BLS certification are required.
• ARRT (R) registered; ARRT (M) preferred or registry within one year of hire.
• Minimum six months relevant experience; mammography experience preferred or cross-training completion.
• Bone densitometry and stereotactic biopsy experience preferred; MRI/EMR experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and verify orders, screening criteria, and histories for mammography.
• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography and bone densitometry across age groups.
• Maintain departmental policies and ensure quality patient care.
• Operate C AIDS tation or similar CAD technology for image digitization.
• Ensure radiation safety and maintain a safe environment for all.
• Supervise and educate students; support cross-training programs.
• Record, file, and bill patient information accurately for services.
