Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.

Summary: The Mammography Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists as needed, and facilitate smooth patient flow. Flexibility to work different shifts and at various campuses is required. The technologist must troubleshoot basic maintenance issues, participate in QA, and resolve image processing and archiving system issues. Ongoing education on safety and technical advances within their scope of licensure is expected. The technologist will adhere to outlined imaging competencies and demonstrate behavior and communication skills aligned with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Description: The Mammography Technologist performs routine and advanced imaging procedures, supports team members, and ensures efficient patient flow. They may work shifts at different campuses, troubleshoot equipment, participate in QA, and maintain imaging standards. The role requires adherence to organizational policies, confidentiality, and professional behavior. Responsibilities include assisting in patient assessment, ensuring exam quality, and following PACS procedures, including downtime protocols. The technologist must report equipment issues and perform other duties as assigned. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos has a rich history and offers a range of medical services, including interventional cardiac services, robotic-assisted surgery, and specialty imaging.

Responsibilities:

• Protect patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Adapt patient assessment and treatment methods to individual needs.
• Follow all policies and standards of care mandated by regulatory agencies.
• Perform examinations to support patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working shifts and campuses.
• Ensure exams are correctly scanned and stored in PACS.
• Follow PACS downtime procedures and escalate issues as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions and follow up appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of medical imaging experience; mammography experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• ARRT Mammography (M) certification required.
• State licensure: MRT (TMB) in Texas, LRT (R) or (F) in Louisiana, RRT in New Mexico.
• BLS certification required.
