Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Mammography Technologist to work in a full-time status. This role is responsible for performing mammography and/or assisting with related radiographic breast procedures (e.g., galactogram, stereotactic breast biopsy, etc.). All work must comply with Federal (MQSA) and State (Texas Department of State Health Services) regulations, as well as ACR guidelines.

What you will do in this role:

  1. Perform high-quality mammograms using proper positioning and correct operation of digital mammography equipment. Prepare the mammography room before and after procedures. Perform quality control/quality assurance procedures as per STRIC policy. Document patient history and previous films, if any.
  2. Acquire and maintain computer skills necessary for using mammography equipment, STRIC radiology information system, and PACS (scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, completing exams, capturing charges, etc.).
  3. Be willing to cross-train in other functions or positions and assume additional responsibilities to ensure department operation or flexible staffing.
  4. Support the mission and vision of South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. Comply with the code of conduct and model ethical behavior.
  5. Understand and enforce applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  6. Work effectively in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment and meet deadlines in a timely manner.

What qualifications you will need:

  1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Graduate of an accredited school of radiology or 10+ years of experience in the modality required.
  3. Certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
  4. Current CPR certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
