- The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high quality radiographs.
- Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
- The technologist educates the patient/family about the procedure as well as provides pre and post procedure instructions.
- The technologist takes measures to provide and care for the patient’s safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
- Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
- Also performs special procedures, assists with quality control testing, and ordering of supplies.
- Offers guidance to less experienced staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
- Minimum of 2 years mammography experience is required.
License Required
- California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR
- California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology - CRTMA
License Preferred

Certifications Required
- ARRT Radiography - RTR
- AHA BLS certification
- ARRT Mammography - RTM
Certifications Preferred
- OCW area only
- Certified in DBT and 3D Tomosynthesis
