Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System is seeking a Mammography Technologist II to deliver high-quality diagnostic images and breast ultrasound accreditation. You will hold ARRT credentials and an AS degree, with BLS within 90 days of hire. This is a full-time role with rotating weekends in a busy mammography department.

The position includes ultrasound duties, QA/QC responsibilities, and radiation safety, reporting QA results and supporting community outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required for radiologic technologist role.
• ARRT certifications: BS (Breast Sonography), M (Mammography), and R (Radiography) as applicable.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• IEMA compliance with Illinois requirements within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge mammography exams and document in HIS and PACS.
• Assist with scheduling of special mammography tests and views.
• Obtain prior mammograms for comparison and reference.
• Support with needle localization and stereotactic breast biopsies.
• Assist with ultrasound breast biopsy procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment per policies and OSHA.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and quality assurance.
• Perform breast ultrasound exams and QA testing.
• Position patients and perform radiographs with radiation safety.
• Promote mammography in the community and educate the public.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs.

Job Description

Department: Mammography

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required (rotating weekends)

Required: AS degree, ARRT (M)(R)(BS) IEMA, IEMA and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $30.56

Mammography Technologist II position is responsible for providing quality diagnostic images for review by the radiologist. In addition this position requires accreditation and performance of breast ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledges mammography exams completed during the shift and maintains proper documentation in the hospital information system (HIS) and Picture archiving communication system (PACS).
• Assists Central Scheduling in setting up special testing within mammography work area (i.e. additional views, localization).
• Obtains previous mammograms for comparison.
• Assists radiologist with needle localization and stereotactic biopsies requiring mammography equipment.
• Assists with ultrasound breast biopsy procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment in order to comply with established policies and procedures of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System and OSHA.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and quality assurance.
• Performs breast ultrasound exams.
• Performs daily quality assurance testing and takes an active role in meeting requirements for MSQA; quality control/assurance.
• Positions and radiographs patients utilizing mammography equipment while practicing radiation safety.
• Promotes mammography through community education.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and need for maintenance appropriately.
