Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography examinations following physician orders and imaging standards.

• Perform breast imaging procedures including stereotactic core biopsies, needle localizations, and seed implants.
• Maintain documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
• Assist with recalls, additional imaging, biopsy scheduling, and follow-up processes.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and surgical staff for coordinated care.
• Ensure compliance with MQSA, FDA, and ACR accreditation requirements.

Job Overview

AdventHealth Avista is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist II to join its radiology and breast imaging team in Louisville, CO. This is a full-time, day-shift, on-site position focused on delivering high-quality mammography and breast imaging services while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography examinations, following physician orders, departmental protocols, and imaging standards.
• Position patients and operate mammography equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
• Perform and document daily quality control (QC) checks and equipment safety procedures.
• Conduct specialized breast imaging procedures, including stereotactic core biopsies, needle localizations, and seed implants.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
• Assist with patient recalls, additional imaging, biopsy scheduling, and follow-up processes.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and surgical staff to support coordinated breast care.
• Follow MQSA, FDA, and ACR regulations and accreditation requirements.
• Ensure patient identification, informed consent, time-out procedures, safety, comfort, and clear communication.
• Support breast center accreditation, community screening events, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and safe examination rooms and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of mammography experience.
• At least 1 year of experience performing stereotactic core biopsies.
• At least 1 year of experience performing breast needle localizations.
• Knowledge of mammography procedures, positioning, equipment, and technical factors.
• Knowledge of MQSA and ACR regulations.
• Ability to review prior breast imaging and identify areas of interest.
• Ability to work effectively with radiologists, nursing staff, and surgical teams.
• Good conversational English, communication, organization, and basic computer skills.

Preferred:

• Experience performing seed implants.
• Experience training other mammography technologists in special procedures.
• Experience supporting ACR accreditation and special-procedure equipment evaluations.

Licensure & Certifications

• Registered Mammographer – RT(M)(ARRT) — Required
• Registered Radiologic Technologist – RT(R)(ARRT) — Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) — Required
