Job summary

UCHealth in Colorado operates Mammography services seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Mammography. This onsite, full-time role requires adherence to MQSA standards and the highest patient care.

You will perform procedures, review histories, educate patients, and participate in interventional imaging when needed. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, registered RT with Mammography (M) or ARRT-R with provisional Mammographer registration

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by ARRT - or - ARRT-R with State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months.

  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensures MQSA compliance and analyzes imaging results for quality.
  • Takes action to resolve image quality issues with re-positioning or repeating procedures.
  • Requires critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Radiology Mammography

Work schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Shift: Days. This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Responsibilities
  • Performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does scheduling.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
  • May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
