Job summary

Solis Mammography in San Antonio, TX seeks a Mammography Technologist to operate x-ray equipment and perform diagnostic mammography with precise positioning and technique. This PRN role offers flexible hours, including weekends, and emphasizes patient education and safety within a patient-focused team.

Ideal candidates hold ARRT registration, a two-year radiologic technology education, and active CPR/BLS certification, with preferred experience in 3D mammography and biopsies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• One-year full-time mammography experience with 3D required.
• Valid state radiology registration.
• ARRT certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• MQSA/FDA- 15 CEU’s every 3 years, 200-documented case numbers every 2 years.
• Knowledge of eRad and Sectra RIS/PACS preferred.
• Experience with ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide services and support for the following areas: Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way.
• Communicate procedures to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.
• Interact with doctors, patients and staff to convey information clearly.
• Apply common sense understanding to follow detailed and/or complex instructions.
• Maintain patient-first focus with outstanding customer service and precise positioning/exposure techniques.
• Practice safe procedures and adhere to radiation safety measures under supervision.
• Complete patient education regarding the exam.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms as ordered.
• Prepare for and assist the Radiologist in intricate mammography exams, including breast biopsies.
