Job summary

South Suburban Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform mammographic procedures, ensure quality images, and maintain imaging equipment. You will work to reassure and guide patients through the exam, verify orders, and document relevant history to support accurate radiology reports.

The role requires a radiology technology program graduate with ARRT/Mammography credentials and CPR certification, and involves daily QC and safety practices in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved radiology technology school; 3–5 years radiographic experience.
• ARRT registered; Mammography ARRT registered; IEMA licensure; CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform all mammographic procedures using appropriate radiographic techniques.
• Position patients for routine and additional mammographic views as requested by the radiologist.
• Perform daily QC tests prior to exams on patients.
• Verify physician orders; distinguish screening vs. diagnostic exams.
• Obtain and document pertinent history before procedures.
• Screen for pregnancy in women of childbearing age.
• Maintain supplies and cleanliness of the exam room.
• Perform mammography screening exams and maintain equipment and QC tests.
