Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform examinations, conduct QA/QC, and support radiologists during breast biopsies. You will educate patients about procedures and ensure comfort and safety throughout the exam.

Responsibilities include accurate categorization of mammograms, recording results, and contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered imaging service.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• ARRT certification; registry eligible in mammography; 24 continuing education credits per biennium.
• Certification or recertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within three months of hire.
• One year of experience as a Registered Radiographer; registry eligible in mammography.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform push/pull tasks up to 35 lbs.
• Preferred: BS degree (BS).
• Preferred: ARRT certification in mammography with CE credits every 3 years.
• Preferred: 1 year of mammography experience including 3D mammography.

• Monitors safety and comfort of patients during the exam.

What the Mammography Technologist will do:

• Performs and records the results of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
• Mammography Technologists trained in breast ultrasound and stereo and guided core needle biopsies assist the Radiologist with biopsies and needle localizations.
• Determines whether a mammogram is screening or diagnostic study.
• Performs mammography examinations and patient education on Hospital services and treatments.
• Acquires patient history & explains exam and procedures, assuring that patient and/or family understand scope of exam.
• Monitors safety and comfort of patient through the exam.

What the Mammography Technologist will need:

• Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification; registry eligible in mammography. Must maintain 24 continuing education credits per biennium to maintain registry status.
• Certification or recertification in Basic Life support (BLS) within three months of hire.
• One year of experience as a Registered Radiographer. Registry eligible in mammography.
• Ability to lift up to a maximum of 35lbs. and perform push/pull tasks that require a maximum force of 35 lbs.
• Preferred: Bachelors of Science degree (BS)
• Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in mammography. Must maintain 15 continuing education credits per three years in Mammography to maintain registry.
• Preferred: One year of mammography experience including 3D mammography.
