Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms per established MQSA and ARRT guidelines. The role includes image labeling, patient education, and participation in advanced procedures, with a focus on compassionate care for women.

Requirements include AMA-approved radiologic technology training, mammography certification, and 1-2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA Approved Program in Radiologic Technology.
• 1-2 years experience as Radiologic Technologist or sonographer.
• Graduate of a Mammography certified program.
• Knowledge of breast anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms per MQSA, ARRT, IEMA guidelines.
• Delivers patient care per department/hospital standards.
• Labels and identifies all images accurately.
• Applies radiation protection according to mammography standards.
• Documents patient history and clinical information in forms/database.
• Participates in advanced mammographic procedures (wire localizations, galactograms, stereotactic biopsy).
• Interacts with physicians as liaison; educates patients pre/post procedure.
• Promotes breast health education and mammography process awareness.
• Participates in training with mammography program and subcommittees.
