Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago’s Breast Health department seeks a Mammography Technologist to deliver patient care per standards, label images, apply radiation protection, select technical factors, and prepare patient data in PenRad.

This role requires MQSA quality control, teamwork across radiology, strong communication, and the ability to work with anxious patients; advanced procedures support and patient confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved AMA Radiologic Technology Program.
• Completion of Training in Mammography speciality.
• Knowledge of breast anatomy.
• Need to recognize patients experiencing fear or anxiety.
• Needs to be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care per department/hospital standards.
• Ensures images are properly labeled.
• Applies radiation protection to patients during mammography.
• Selects technical factors for digital image capture.
• Prepares and processes patient information in PenRad; ensures data accuracy.
• Ensures historical images available for radiologist review.
• Prepares images for dictation by radiologists; ensures proper identification.
• Maintains patient modesty and confidentiality.
• Performs mammography equipment quality control and QA tests as per MQSA.
• Demonstrates equipment operation and patient comfort during procedures.
