Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center in Georgia is hiring a Mammography Technologist to provide safe, high‑quality imaging and support patients through the exam. This full‑time position offers a stable, Monday–Friday schedule and a collaborative care environment within Wellstar's integrated health system.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and ARRT‑R and ARRT‑M credentials with BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly (AIDET) to reduce anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients.
• Use sound clinical judgment, clarify unclear orders, and assist in emergencies or across imaging areas when needed.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean per infection control/FDA guidelines.
• Perform and document required QC tests (ACR/MQSA) including Phantom, Visual Checklist, and other tests.
• Ensure all images are labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture.
• Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; provide pre- and post-exam instructions and training support.
