In July 2010, Atrium Health Lincoln opened a new 101-bed hospital and medical office building at 433 McAlister Road. The facility was designed with the community in mind, featuring:

  • A connection to local history with exterior bricks reclaimed from the Belding-Hausman Mill
  • A 1.2-mile public walking trail around the campus, passing ponds and wooded areas
  • A collaborative art installation titled “A Sense of Place,” depicting the evolution of the land into a healing space

Performs mammographic procedures under the supervision of a radiologist, operating equipment proficiently, adhering to safety practices, and producing high-quality images.

Essential Functions

  • Verifies patient identity via armband and documentation.
  • Reviews patient history and correlates with prior mammograms to ensure correct examinations.
  • Performs digital imaging, recognizing factors affecting quality and storage.
  • Evaluates image quality and consults radiologist as needed.
  • Assists during invasive procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Reports equipment issues, performs troubleshooting under engineering supervision.
  • Maintains accurate patient records, charges, and verifies correct exam transmission to PACS.

Physical Requirements

This role involves moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting and moving patients and equipment, with assistance for weights up to 600 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting are required, along with the ability to adapt to temperature changes and follow radiation safety protocols.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited two-year AMA and ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program. Must meet federal mammography training requirements under MQSA. ARRT certification in Mammography is required. BLS certification is also required.
