Job Summary

Are you a registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist or a current RT student with an interest in the field of Mammography? Let us help you advance your career.

Memorial Hermann offers a 2-3 month paid training program/apprenticeship to prepare you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become an outstanding Mammography Technologist.

This program includes structured education, textbook review, and independent diagnostic exams, totaling 320 hours across four phases. Upon successful completion and passing the mammography registry examination, you will be reimbursed for the AHEC program cost ($1,215) and transitioned into a Mammography Technologist role at one of our Breast Care Centers in the Houston area.

*Note: You must register for the AHEC program and cover the course fee initially. Reimbursement occurs after passing the registry.

Training locations include:

• Memorial Hermann Southwest Breast Center, Houston, TX
• Memorial Hermann- The Woodlands Breast Center, The Woodlands, TX
• Memorial City Breast Center, Houston, TX

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
• Current or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
• Registered Radiologic Technologist by ARRT (ARRT-R)

Experience / Skills: Ability to lift/maneuver patients and perform job functions safely and effectively.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform radiography exams, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and monitor data.
• Perform equipment quality assurance and assist with accreditation processes.
• Report incidents and malfunctions, and perform emergency and registration duties as needed.
