Job description

Join to apply for the Mammography Technologist role at Akumin.

Our Mammographer performs film screen and/or digital mammography exams, collecting thorough patient history/information to provide the interpreting Radiologist with an accurate clinical history of patient signs and symptoms.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Performing mammogram exams on patients.
2. Obtaining patient history, prior films/reports, and supportive information (RIS/PACS, burn discs).
3. Performing Quality Control (QC) for FDA/ACR compliance.
4. Providing imaging support for other modalities (x-ray, bone density, etc.).
5. Managing mammogram results and reminders.

Position requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree preferred.
2. Graduation from a State-approved Mammography program.
3. ARRT (M) certification required.
4. State license, if applicable.
5. CPR Certification.
6. Valid state driver’s license, if applicable.
7. Meeting initial MQSA standards.
8. Strong customer service and organizational skills.
9. Basic computer skills.

Physical requirements:

Exposed to magnetic fields, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases. Tasks include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movements, and assisting with patient transfers.
