Job summary

Novant Health's East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, SC, is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality screening and diagnostic care, while ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their experience.

You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, educate patients, and operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physician interpretation; join a collaborative imaging team committed to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in radiography; ARRT-approved program.
• Minimum of 1 year mammography experience preferred.
• ARRT radiography and mammography RT(R)(M) certification required.
• State licensure required.
• BD certification preferred (optional).

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while providing a safe, compassionate, and remarkable patient experience.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients throughout mammography exams while maintaining comfort, privacy, and dignity.
• Operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Assist physicians with diagnostic procedures and follow established imaging protocols.

Facility: East Cooper Medical Center | Location: Mount Pleasant, SC | Position Type: Full-Time | Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

What You'll Do

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while providing a safe, compassionate, and remarkable patient experience.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients throughout mammography exams while maintaining comfort, privacy, and dignity.
• Operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Assist physicians with diagnostic procedures and follow established imaging protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Education:2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program, required.
• Experience: One year of experience in mammography, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography and Mammography – RT(R)(M), required.
  • Certified and registered by ARRT in Bone Densitometry – RT(R)(M)(BD), preferred.
  • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required.
  • Applicable state license, required.
• Additional skills required: Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates Mammography equipment.
