Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform routine and advanced breast imaging with emphasis on quality and safety. The role requires ARRT certification, NJ license, and AMA-accredited program completion, with day shift and hourly pay range.

You will participate in Dexa and X-ray exams and support breast imaging procedures. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to train across RWJBarnabas imaging locations,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program completed.
• Current ARRT in Radiography and Mammography.
• New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist license required.
• Continuing education credits as required by ARRT/ACR.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position patients for breast imaging with proper alignment.
• Select exposure factors for optimal, safe images.
• Assess image quality according to ACR guidelines.
• Assist radiologists with interventional breast procedures.
• Maintain infection control and department policies.
• Perform daily quality control tests on mammography equipment.
• Conduct routine and advanced mammography exams; Dexa is preferred.
• Provide coverage at RWJBarnabas Health imaging locations as needed.

Mammography Technologist – RWJBarnabas Health

At RWJBarnabas Health, the Mammography Technologist performs a variety of routine and advanced mammography procedures that require independent judgment, technical skill, and a thorough understanding of breast imaging and the diagnostic process for breast disease.

A Typical Day For a Mammography Technologist May Include

• Correctly positioning patients for routine and diagnostic radiographic imaging of the breast
• Selecting appropriate exposure factors to produce optimal images in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards
• Assessing breast images for quality assurance based on American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines
• Assisting radiologists with interventional breast procedures and breast biopsies
• Maintaining infection control standards and departmental policies
• Performing daily quality control tests and maintaining mammography equipment
• Conducting routine and advanced mammography exams as required
• Performing Dexa scan procedures and general X-ray exams (preferred but not required)
• Applying knowledge of quality control standards for all mammography equipment
• Providing coverage at any RWJBarnabas Health imaging location as needed
• Demonstrating flexibility to train and work at other JW Breast Centers when required

To be considered for this Mammography Technologist opportunity, you must:

• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Have completed an AMA-accredited School of Radiologic Technology program
• Maintain continuing education credits as required by ARRT, FDA/MQSA, and ACR
• Hold current ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography
• Hold a valid New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist license
• Be compliant with all continuing education requirements for mammography
• Hold a certified in BLS
