Qualifications

Job Overview:

The Mammography Technologist performs routine and advanced mammography procedures within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

• ARRT Certification in radiography and mammography
• Valid NJ State licensure
• BLS through American Heart Association
• Maintains current continuing education credits as required by the FDA/MQSA and ACR

Preferred:

• Previous Mammography experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem scheduling
• Day Shift
• Willing to cover other JW Breast Center sites as needed

Essential Functions:

• Performs routine mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast biopsies, DEXA scans, and general x-ray procedures. Knowledge of QC for all mammography equipment. Coverage at satellite offices as needed.
• Assists in maintaining QA and PI functions. Follows infection control protocols.
• Reviews last mammography exam in McKesson PACS and reports in mammography RIS system. Consults Radiologist and/or other specialists as needed.
• Maintains technical competency in all digital mammography technologies: Mammography RIS, McKesson technology.
• Enters and accesses computer data for patient and information requirements. Familiar with McKesson PACS and Mammography RIS systems.
• Assists physicians with coordinating information, materials, and supplies before, during, and after exams.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, including cross-coverage at other JWBC facilities.
