Job description

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Radiologist and the manager, the mammography technologist performs imaging to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries. Responsibilities include screening and diagnostic imaging, guided procedures, specimen imaging, and bone density scanning, adhering to American College of Radiology’s criteria and protocols developed with physician input. The role involves maintaining competencies, ensuring quality procedures, documenting accurately in the EMR, collaborating with interdepartmental teams, and managing equipment and safety standards. The technologist also participates in patient care, infection control, education, and staff orientation. Travel to additional sites may be required. Mammography certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment, and ongoing education and licensure are mandatory.

Location:

• 375 Dixmyth Ave
• Possible rotation to outpatient sites for coverage

Work Hours:

• Full-time: 80 hours bi-weekly
• Day shift, hours vary between 7:00am-4:30pm
• Weekend rotation: 1 Saturday every 4 weeks, 7am-2pm

Job Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Allied Health
• Graduate of an approved technical or vocational program
• ARRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• State licensure in mammography within 12 months
• Clinical radiology experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide patient, family, and staff care before, during, and after procedures; respond to emergencies
• Maintain accurate records and complete all paperwork
• Produce and evaluate screening and diagnostic mammography images
• Demonstrate organizational and communication skills, fostering teamwork
• Maintain competency through ongoing continuing education and equipment knowledge
