Job summary

RadNet Antelope Valley is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform mammographic exams with a focus on quality images and patient care. You will operate mammography equipment, monitor patient well-being, and guide patients through the procedure while answering questions and ensuring safety.

Requirements include ARRT certification, a state radiology license, and a BLS certificate; at least one year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • ARRT(R)(M) certification required.
  • State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology required.
  • BLS certification required; at least one year of diagnostic imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mammographic equipment and other devices per policy.
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images promptly while delivering excellent patient care.
  • Adjust exposure settings (KvP, Mas, grid, AEC, focal spot) for optimal images.
  • Monitor patient well-being during exams and respond to discomfort or medical issues.

When you join us as a Mammography Technologist, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

You Will:

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices with adherence to established company policies and protocols.
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
  • Understand and use compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
  • Monitor patients’ well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
  • Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
  • Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
  • Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
  • Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.

To Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:

  • ARRT(R)(M) certification
  • State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
