Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Mammography Services, the Mammography Technician is responsible for the services at The Breast & Imaging Center to include areas of mammography and/or bone densitometry; exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics; provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare patients for breast imaging procedures by accurately assessing patients’ needs and providing patient education.

  • Operates breast imaging equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentations of images and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal images.

  • Prepare patients’ films for interpretation by a radiologist.

  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

  • Practices radiation safety measures.

  • Follow HIPAA guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 2 years of breast imaging experience

Education/Certificate/License:

  • Associate degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiology program

  • ARRT registered and Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist
