Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center is seeking a Mammography Tech to join our imaging team. You will review orders, educate patients about procedures, and perform mammography and related imaging while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Join a collaborative imaging department dedicated to accurate diagnoses and compassionate care. ARRT certification and Mammography Registry eligibility are required, with BLS due within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT certification required; Mammography Registry eligibility required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Position patient and perform imaging, including mammography and related procedures.
• Ensure equipment readiness, safety standards, and quality control.

How you'll contribute

Mammo Tech who excels in this role:

Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.

Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.

What we're looking for

Applicants should be a graduate of an approved course in Radiologic Technology.Must be ARRT certified AND Mammography Registry eligible. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
