Job summary

Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC is seeking a Mammography Technician to perform diagnostic mammography in an acute care setting, ensuring accurate imaging and patient comfort.

You will review orders, educate patients, operate and maintain imaging equipment, and adhere to MQSA and BI-RADS guidelines, with independent judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have ARRT radiology credential, BCLS, and state license; join a team committed to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Mammography or Radiologic Technology program.
• Active Radiation Operator Certificate in practicing state; ARRT in Radiology.
• ARRT Radiology certification.
• BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography procedures per established standards of practice to support accurate patient diagnosis and care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Review patient history and physician orders, educate patients on procedures, and ensure a safe, comfortable imaging experience.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, perform quality control, and ensure compliance with MQSA and accreditation standards.
• Monitor patient condition and assist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and needle localization.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely reporting and follow-up in BI-RADS alignment.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Mammography or Radiologic Technology program

Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; ARRT in Radiology

ARRT Radiography certification

Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification

How you'll contribute

The Mammo Tech performs diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with established standards of practice to support accurate patient diagnosis and care in an acute care hospital setting. This role is responsible for reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients on procedures, and ensuring a safe, comfortable imaging experience. The Mammo Tech operates and maintains imaging equipment, performs quality control, and ensures compliance with MQSA and accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities include monitoring patient condition, assisting with interventional procedures such as biopsies and needle localization, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring timely reporting and follow‑up in alignment with BI‑RADS guidelines. This position requires independent judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
