Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas in central North Carolina seeks a Mammography Radiologic Technologist to perform breast imaging exams, maintain safety standards, and support patient care in a busy radiology department.

Required ARRT registration, MQSA compliance, and BLS certification, plus strong communication and critical thinking. Weekend work and shift rotations may be required; a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, and fitness membership are offered.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered RT-(R) (M) and MQSA standards for mammography.
• Maintains certification in BLS.
• Personal computer skills and good verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment and image management systems.
• Perform quality control measures on equipment and procedures.
• Determine technique selections to optimize image quality.
• Follow policies and procedures.
• Navigate online resources related to responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with staff; assist patients physically as needed.
• Cross-train in diagnostic imaging in ED and with portables.
• Work weekends and with shift rotations.

Perform mammography exams and invasive procedures on patients while adhering to radiology and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operates mammography equipment, computer, and image management systems utilized in performing breast imaging exams.
• Perform and assess quality control measures on equipment and procedures.
• Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
• Follows policy and procedures.
• Ability to navigate on-line resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers; withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting or sitting; ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
