Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. in Virginia seeks a Mammography/Bone Densitometry technologist to perform screening and diagnostic imaging under physician direction. You will position patients, operate radiology equipment, prepare rooms, and complete documentation.

The role requires ALD Radiologic Science education and ARRT credentials. Registry eligibility is considered; ARRT (M) must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain licensure within 180 days.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with ARRT or registry-eligible; must complete registration within 180 days of hire.
• ARRT (M) certification required within 12 months of hire.
• ALD Radiologic Science education required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general screening and diagnostic Mammography and Bone Densitometry under physician direction.

Job description

Overview

Conducts general screening and diagnostic Mammography and/or Bone Densitometry imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation.

Will consider registry eligible graduate, must be registered within 180 days of hire. Must be ARRT (M) within 1 year of hire.
