Job Description

Basic Function: Upon the order of a qualified physician, the Mammography Technologist will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain images for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. The Technologist will perform Mammography and DEXA studies, as well as general radiographic, fluoroscopic, ASC, and SCNB procedures. They will use the designated RIS and PACS systems and may be assigned other duties as deemed appropriate by supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED; Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program; Associates in Applied Science-Radiology Technology.
• Experience: 40 hours mammography training approved by ARRT; 2 years' experience in mammography or 1-year KSC experience; X-ray and/or SCNB experience.
• Licenses: ARRT (R)(M) MRT-General Certificate, BCLS certification.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of mammography quality assurance and accreditation; PACS and RIS systems experience.
• Other: Excellent communication skills; bilingual preferred.
