Job summary

UT Health Jacksonville is seeking a Mammography Technician to perform breast imaging procedures across the Breast Care Center, screening services, and mobile mammography. This role emphasizes patient-centered care and quality improvement within a dynamic radiology team.

The ideal candidate will have an AMA approved Radiology program, ARRT – R and Texas registration, High School diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Breast imaging procedures performed per department policy.
• Graduate of AMA approved Radiology program.
• ARRT – R credential and Texas Registered license required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Performs all procedures relevant to breast imaging.
• Participates in comprehensive breast health program across multiple sites (Breast Care Center, screening service, mobile van).
• Engages in required quality improvement activities and delivers exceptional patient service.

• UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, wound healing center and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs all procedures relevant to breast imaging.


• A comprehensive approach to breast health is utilized in accordance with departmental policy at the three sites of service. These include the Breast Care Center, off-site screening mammography service, and the mobile mammography van.


• Participates in required technical and program continuous quality improvement activities and demonstrates exceptional patient service skills.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.


• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiology program


• Currently ARRT – R and Texas Department of Health Registered


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Preferred mobile mammography experience


• Certified in Mammography, ARRT – M registered preferred
