Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Mammography Imaging Technologist for a full-time, day shift. The candidate will independently produce high-quality diagnostic mammography images while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality.

Requirements include ARRT Mammography Technologist registration and Washington Radiologic Technologist licensure. 100% FTE, days; compensation ranges from $45.68 to $71.50 per hour with UW benefits.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Legal requirement: State of Washington Radiologic Technologist license; ARRT Mammography Technologist certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently operates all mammography equipment and adheres to proper imaging techniques.
• Troubleshoots minor equipment issues and reports malfunctions.
• Schedules, begins, completes, and cancels exams in the RIS.
• Uses RIS and PACS for daily workflow.
• Reviews imaging orders for accuracy and selects appropriate exams.
• Explains procedures to patients and positions patients properly.
• Provides patient care with focus on safety and error reduction.
• Performs quality control checks and alerts staff to malfunctions.
• Adheres to radiation safety policies including shielding.
