Job summary

Eastern Radiologists, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform acquisition, processing, and archiving of mammography images. You will care for patients in the mammography department under indirect supervision, ensuring safety and accuracy.

The role requires ARRT Mammography, BLS/CPR, and ongoing education; no post-graduate experience is required, and you will work with radiology students alongside supervising radiologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• No post graduate experience required.
• ARRT registered in Mammography.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Maintains Continuing Education Credits.
• Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Must display courtesy and empathy toward patients, co-workers, and physicians.
• Demonstrate punctuality and dependability and ability to make good use of clinical time.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients in a respectful, appropriate and courteous manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of mammography, x-ray, and bone density rooms.
• Explain procedures to patient and maintain patient safety.
• Provide patient care and comfort and honor patient’s bill of rights.
• Obtain patient’s clinical history as appropriate to procedure.
• Follow and attend all HIPAA, Blood Bourne and OSHA guidelines and classes.
• Perform QC duties on mammogram, x-ray and bone density units as necessary.
• Maintain data in MRS for all patients.
• Call patients back for additional views as needed.
• Perform diagnostic x-rays, mammography and bone density exams.
• Coordinate review of biopsy/pathology cases for radiologists.
• Keeps up continuing education as required.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.
