Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, seeks a Radiologic Technologist specializing in breast imaging to produce high quality breast images for interpretation efficiently. Qualifications

• Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency license (IEMA).
• ARRT registry or registry-eligible (Radiologic Technologist).
• Proficient in modality physics and operation of imaging equipment.
• Knowledge of anatomy, pathology and physiology.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Maintains ARRT Mammography certification.
• Meets Level 1 requirements and proficient in 1) Diagnostic Examinations and 2) Breast Needle Localizations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in room preparedness, e.g. cleaning rooms and supply placement, to include ultrasound rooms.
• Assists Radiologist in the performance of interventional breast procedures.
• Assists technologists and radiologists by informing patients and referring physicians of appointment delays.
• Follows departmental protocols and procedures in the performance of exams and produces images that meet quality standards.
• Follows work and patient schedules.
• Has working knowledge of RIS/EPIC and PACS (Candelis).
• Maintains a screening technical repeat average of 1% or lower.
• Maintains licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
• Maintains logs and documentation per protocol.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintains the work environment per departmental requirements.
• Participates in training and development of students in clinical affiliations.
• Produces work that meets productivity standards.
• Provides detailed patient history for proper interpretation of image.
• Delivers quality patient care per standards.

Pay Range: $34.89 - $56.78 per hour

Required Job Qualifications:

• Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.


• Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.


• Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.


• Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.


• Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and physiology.


• Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.


• Maintains ARRT Mammography certification.


• Meets Level 1 requirements AND is proficient in 1) Diagnostic Examinations and 2). Breast Needle Localizations

Physical Demands

• Requires full body range of motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.


• Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
