Job summary

Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, IL is seeking a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist to provide quality diagnostic imaging services during the 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM shift. This PRN role supports the Diag Srvcs-X-Ray department and requires a valid IEMA license and ARRT registry.

You will collaborate with radiologists and nursing staff, maintain patient privacy, follow imaging protocols, and ensure equipment readiness for exams.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Valid Illinois IEMA radiology license.
  • ARRT registry or registry-eligible.
  • Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, pathology and physiology.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient care as defined by departmental standards.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Follows departmental protocols to perform exams with quality.
  • Produces work that meets productivity standards.
  • Maintains the imaging work environment per requirements.
  • Has working knowledge of RIS and PACS.
  • Reports supply shortages or equipment failures to supervisor.
  • Follows work and patient schedules.
  • Assists Radiologist in procedures.
  • Handles and documents medications under supervision and guidelines.
  • Maintains logs and documentation per protocol.
  • Provides patient history or information for proper interpretation.
  • Maintains licensure/registry status per regulatory bodies.
  • Participates in training of students assigned to area.

Work Schedule: 8 Hr (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM)

Pay Range: $36.06 per hour

The Per Diem role, provides quality patient care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Applies knowledge of the modality to produce quality diagnostic images. Required Job Qualifications:

  • Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
  • Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and physiology.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • LEVEL 1 Radiography registry - Proficient in basic X-ray exams.
  • LEVEL 2: Proficient in 2 modalities: Meets Level 1 requirements AND proficient in OPERATING ROOM X-RAY OR GI- FLUORO OR ECG OR PHLEBOTOMY OR CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR.
Physical Demands
  • Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Has a working knowledge of the imaging systems, Radiology Information System and PACS.
  • Reports supply shortage or equipment failure to section supervisor.
  • Follows work and patient schedules.
  • Assist Radiologist in the performance of procedures.
  • Handles, administers and documents medications under the supervision of a radiologist and following the guidelines of the Rush Pharmacy and technical licensure.
  • Maintains logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
  • Provides patient history or information necessary for proper interpretation of the procedure.
  • Maintains licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
  • Participates in the training and development of students assigned to area through clinical affiliations.
