Job summary

Riverside Diagnostic/Breast Imaging - Oyster Point in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Mammographer Quality Control Stereo Tech to perform mammography and stereotactic exams and ensure quality QC procedures.

You will prepare patients, explain procedures, respond to questions, and maintain documentation while adhering to ALARA principles and regulatory standards. ARRT Mammography certification and CPR/BLS are required upon hire; weekend shifts and multi-location work are possible.

Qualifications

• Mammography experience is preferred.
• Licensing as Radiologic Technologist with ARRT Mammography certification required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Completes mammographic imaging studies and presents them for diagnosis.
• Produces quality images following protocols and procedures.
• Performs equipment QC measurements and ensures equipment functionality.

Newport News, VirginiaHiring Range$34.40 - $47.30/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.OverviewThe Mammographer Quality Control Stereo Tech is responsible for performing mammography and stereotactic exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all mammography and stereotactic exams and QC procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.What you will doCompletes mammographic imaging studies and presents them for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality.
