Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville, SC seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform breast imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic studies, with independent judgment. You will assist during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies and ensure optimal image quality for radiologists.

The role emphasizes radiation safety, ongoing education, and staying current with department changes. This is a day-shift, on-site position at Patewood Outpt Ctr/Med Offices in the Mammography-POC area.

Qualifications

• Certification in Radiologic Technology from an approved program.
• BLS certification.
• SCRQSA certification (SC requirement).
• ARRT Radiology and ARRT Mammo registrations.

Responsibilities

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation and performs screening and diagnostic imaging.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Assesses patients by reviewing history to determine screening versus diagnostic status.
• Maintains radiation protection standards and uses shielding, collimation, and appropriate technical factors.

Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency.

Essential Functions

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.


• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.


• Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.


• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.


• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images.


• Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.


• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Certification program - Radiologic Technology


• Experience - No experience required. Prior radiology experience preferred
