Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Senior Malware Reverse Engineer to join our offensive cyber operations team. You will apply vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, and network exploitation techniques to understand adversaries and strengthen national security missions.

The role requires experience with Windows/Linux/macOS, malware taxonomy, shellcode, fuzzing, and memory corruption exploitation, plus a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Qualifications

  • Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools for malware
  • Experience with Python or JavaScript scripting
  • Experience with Windows API reverse engineering and malware classification
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Mac OS and network traffic analysis to identify malware
  • Familiarity with vulnerability research and exploitation methods such as fuzzing and shellcode

Qualifications
  • Experience with industry standard static and dynamic analysis tools, including disassemblers, debuggers, virtual machines, and hex editors.
  • Experience in a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience with development or reverse engineering of Windows API targets.
  • Experience with the identification and classification of malware families based on standard taxonomy and typical malware attack methodologies for both Windows and Linux.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac, application behaviors, and network traffic analysis to identify malware exploits.
  • Experience with vulnerability research and exploitation methodologies such as fuzzing, shellcode, and leveraging memory corruption vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to analyze shellcode, packed or obfuscated code, and associated algorithms, and capture and interpret traces using Wireshark.
  • Ability to read C/C++, C#, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Rust.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in malware reverse engineering, or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience in malware reverse engineering.
Nice to Have
  • Ability to read C++ and Python preferred.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • GREM Certification.
  • OSED or OSEE Certification.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
