Job summary

Homecare Heroes of Texas is seeking a dedicated caregiver to provide compassionate support for individuals with developmental disabilities in a home-based setting. The role emphasizes safety, respect, and promoting independence while assisting with daily living activities and personal care.

The position requires reliability, strong communication with patients and families, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are preferred to support transport needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or related field preferred but not required.
• Compassionate and caring by nature.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Basic knowledge of patient care techniques and procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals).
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents.
• Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity and independence.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check; must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
