Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Malayalam Annotation & Transcription Expert for remote work with a contract arrangement. The candidate will source Malayalam PDFs, annotate structures, and transcribe text verbatim in Malayalam script, ensuring accurate metadata and relationships between page regions.

Qualified native Malayalam speakers with experience in localization or data review are preferred, including comfort with complex layouts and handwriting forms.

• Source documents: find publicly accessible Malayalam PDFs with multimodal elements and record their sources.
• Annotate structure: identify and bound every meaningful region of the page and assign component types and reading-order indices.
• Record relationships: link each region to its parent component through an identifier.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce all text exactly as it appears in Malayalam script, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: document language, type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work: experienced annotators review tasks end to end.

Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Malayalam
