Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a Scientific Communications Senior Scientist to translate complex formulation and ingredient performance into clear science storytelling for makeup products. You will partner with Makeup R&I, Brand Product Development, and Marketing to uncover the scientific drivers behind color cosmetics benefits and communicate them through compelling narratives and visuals.

You will interpret cosmetic literature, craft diagrams, and support testing directions and product

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field; advanced degree preferred (cosmetic science, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, biology or related)
3-5 years of professional experience; industry preferred; cross-functional project experience required
Strong ability to search, interpret, and summarize scientific literature; clear written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

Translate formulation science into clear, benefit-driven messaging for claims and education
Develop scientific narratives to support marketing storytelling and product education
Create intuitive diagrams and visuals to communicate polymer networks, film formation and color science
Partner with Makeup R&I, Brand Product Development, and Marketing to align scientific understanding
Monitor cosmetic science literature and translate findings into actionable insights for cross-functional teams
