Job summary

The City of Olathe is seeking a Makerspace Supervisor to lead a dynamic team in our community makerspace. This in-person, full-time role reports to the Makerspace Manager and supports programming, training, and day-to-day operations with a focus on customer service and safety.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of relevant experience, supervisory skills, and a strong background in making technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a public-facing or educational environment.
• Ability to plan and deliver programs and workshops.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and develops a team of Makerspace staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Leads programming aligned with library goals and ensures accessibility and quality across formats.
• Provides guidance and training on Makerspace tools and technologies; maintains equipment knowledge and inventory.
