Job summary

Progress Residential is seeking a Make Ready technician to restore vacant apartments to market-ready status and perform core maintenance tasks. You will use industry tools to complete repairs, assist with exterior grounds upkeep, and report hazards to the Community Manager.

Qualifications

  • Regularly performs manual, task-oriented work under direct supervision.
  • High School or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses industry-specific technology to ensure repairs and replacements are completed timely.
  • Performs repairs and upkeep of exterior grounds and common areas.
  • Identifies and reports hazards to management.
  • Ensures preventive maintenance programs are followed.
  • Maintains and secures property-issued tools.
  • Posts notices to vacate and communicates with residents as applicable.
  • Complies with OSHA and safety requirements; knows applicable codes and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Make Ready's primary responsibility is to ensure that all vacant apartment units are restored timely to market-ready status. This position will also perform general repairs and assist in overall maintenance of the property's interior and exterior. Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer. Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Uses industry-specific technology to ensure all repairs and replacements are completed timely to restore units to move-in ready condition within company standards.

  • Performs repairs, replacements, and upkeep related to exterior grounds and common areas of the property.

  • Assists with the identification and correction of hazardous community conditions and liabilities and reports hazards to Community Manager and Service Manager.

  • Assist in ensuring that established preventive maintenance programs are followed and documented per BH program guidelines.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and security of all property-issued tools.

  • Post notices to vacate and other community communication, if applicable.

  • Understands and complies with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and all other safety requirements. Knowledge of federal, state, and local code and internal policies, initiatives and systems regarding maintenance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • General maintenance and safety experience.

  • Basic computer skills/knowledge required to perform job functions.

  • Regularly performs manual, task-oriented work under direct supervision.

  • High School or GED (General Education Diploma) preferred.

  • Required to provide own (industry specific) hand tools.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (work schedule may vary depending on business needs). Some overtime may be required and ability to work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Full range of motion with upper and lower body. Continual movement including, but not limited to: standing, walking, bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing stairs.

  • Ability to work with both hands for frequent grasping and manipulation.

  • Push or pull items and reaching overhead.

  • Operation of a motor vehicle onsite, if applicable.

  • Exposure to all weather conditions.
