Job summary

ONYX Multifamily Group at Eagle Creek Landing in DeSoto, Texas is seeking a dependable Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant homes for new residents. You will perform minor repairs, painting, cleaning, inspections, and other make-ready tasks to ensure every home is safe, clean, and move-in ready.

Ideal candidates have basic plumbing/electrical/carpentry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Do you take pride in turning an apartment into a clean, comfortable, move-in-ready home?

ONYX Multifamily Group is looking for a dependable and hands-on Make Ready Technician to join the team at Eagle Creek Landing in DeSoto, Texas.

In this role, you'll help prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing minor repairs, painting and touch-ups, cleaning, inspections, and other make-ready tasks. You'll play an important part in ensuring every home is safe, clean, functional, and ready for move-in.

What You'll Do

• Inspect vacant apartments and identify repairs, cleaning, and maintenance needs.

• Complete make-ready tasks to ensure apartments meet move-in standards.

• Perform minor repairs, including painting, wall patching, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, and fixture replacement.

• Check appliances and HVAC systems to ensure they are working properly.

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and other spaces.

• Complete final inspections to confirm apartments are clean, safe, and move-in ready.

• Keep maintenance tools, cleaning supplies, and repair materials organized.

• Monitor supplies and communicate when additional materials are needed.

• Maintain accurate make-ready records, work orders, inventory, and progress updates.

• Follow company safety policies, applicable regulations, and established procedures.

• Work professionally with residents, coworkers, vendors, and other team members.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to follow safety requirements and company procedures.

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, property management, or related experience.

• Apartment or residential make-ready experience.

• Experience with painting, drywall/wall patching, plumbing, electrical, or fixture repairs.

• Experience inspecting vacant units and preparing them for move-in.
