Location: Dillsburg, PA

Job Id:195

Make Ready Engineering Product Manager Member of the Katapult Product team

Job Summary

At Katapult Engineering, we combine best-in-class software with decades of service work experience to build trust, improve the industry, and bring reliable utilities to people. We are an employee-owned company seeking talented people who want to do better in their work and in the world.

We are specifically looking for a talented individual to join our Katapult Pro product team as our Make Ready Engineering product manager.

As the Make Ready Engineering Product Manager, you own this entire product area rather than a simple feature list. You are trusted to discover the right problems and determine how best to solve them, and you are measured by the outcomes you drive rather than the volume of work you ship. Collaborating closely with the rest of your product team, you tackle complex customer and business challenges to deliver solutions that are valuable, viable, usable, and feasible. Ultimately, you are responsible for the holistic Make Ready Engineering experience, ensuring no critical details fall through the cracks.

The job will be full-time and in person at Katapult’s office in Dillsburg, PA.

Expected Job Roles
  • Problem selection — You decide which problems your product takes on, framing each as an opportunity tied to an outcome and choosing the few most worth pursuing given limited resources.
  • Deep knowledge (customer, data, business, market) — You build and hold deep knowledge across the customer, the data, the business, and the market, kept current through direct customer contact and real work in the product.
  • Solution design — You own how each problem gets solved, testing the riskiest assumptions before committing to a build so weak ideas die cheaply.
  • Quality and readiness bar — You define what "good" and "ready" mean for your product, setting acceptance criteria anchored in user outcomes with a success metric and instrumentation in place before release.
  • Product outcomes — You are accountable for the outcomes your product creates and for how they ladder up to business results like revenue, active users, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder collaboration — You keep growth, engineering, leadership, and customers aligned by showing your work and gathering feedback early rather than seeking approval.
Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Culture Carrier: You embody Katapult’s core values: create maximum value, people matter, a growth mindset, and fair exchange.
  • Pragmatic Innovator: You have a track record of framing complex problems as opportunities and the discipline to validate assumptions and kill weak ideas cheaply.
  • Data-Driven Decision Maker: You possess strong analytical skills and are deeply comfortable leveraging large datasets to inform your product strategy and choices.

What You Bring:

  • Product Experience: 2+ years of experience in Product Management, or equivalent experience working closely with software development teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to partner deeply with engineering, design, and business teams to bring software solutions to market.
  • Customer Discovery: Experience engaging directly with users to gather feedback, conduct discovery, and uncover root problems.
  • Clear Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts to diverse audiences and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred, but not required):
    • Industry Experience: Direct time spent in make-ready work, including field collection, pole loading analysis, design, and permitting.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NESC clearances and loading, FCC pole attachment rules, and One-Touch Make-Ready (OTMR) processes.
    • Technical Background: An Engineering degree, EIT or PE certification, and/or experience with GIS and CAD software.
    • SaaS Experience: Prior experience working within enterprise SaaS companies.
    • Software Fluency: Fluency in Katapult Pro software ( Click here to create a free read-only account to view a demo job in Katapult Pro ).

    • Vacation time
    • 8 paid holidays
    • Up to 4 additional "Weekly PTO" hours to bring your total hours up to 40 if you have worked at least 36 hours
    • Paid personal sick leave as needed and 24 hours of family care leave
    • Ministry days, Funeral leave, Parental leave, and Jury Duty leave
    • Flex time
  • Insurance Benefits
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 100% of premiums covered for employee (& family if applicable)
    • Quarterly contributions to a Health Savings Account
