Aggreko plc is seeking a Major Project Travel Technician 1- Power Generator, based in any US city with up to 75% travel. You’ll join an elite technician team handling projects from large events to refinery turnarounds, installing, commissioning, servicing and repairing generators, diesel engines, and HVAC equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, schematics literacy, and remote-ops collaboration, with a strong training program and opportunities for growth. Requires 8+ years’ generator experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8+ years' experience with power generators, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Metering instruments knowledge: multimeters, amp meters, hygrometers.
• TWIC card or valid DOT medical card and driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or OFA systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures on Major Projects and service centers; calculate tonnage and kW requirements.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and safe operation of equipment.
• Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures and design proactive notifications.

What you’ll do:

• You will be part of an elite technician team that will work on a wide range of projects from large events, to assisting Utilities customers or being part of a turnaround team in a refinery.
• Install, commission, service and repair Aggreko generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or OFA systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both on Major Projects and in service centers. Utilize mathematical formulas to calculate both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements.
• Read and comprehend electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of, practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
• Interface with a remote operations center to prevent failures, help design proactive notification to avoid failures and compliance

Here’s what you’ll get:

• High school diploma/GED
• 8+ years' experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Electrical Generating System Association technician or other various certifications are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge using metering and instruments such as multi-meter’s, amp meters, and Hygrometers
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card, valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
