Job summary

The Guttmacher Institute is seeking a Development Manager, Major Gifts and Prospects, to qualify, cultivate, and close gifts from individual donors with major capacity. You will manage a planned giving portfolio and secure bequests while writing donor materials for high-touch prospects.

The role requires strong writing, relationship-building, and experience with moves management, with travel up to 30% for US donor visits. This remote position prefers candidates on the Northeast or West Coast.

Qualifications

• 7 years of fundraising experience with major gifts and bequest pledges
• Frontline donor-facing role with relationship-building
• Experience with donor qualification and moves management
• Ability to discuss planned gifts and blended gift asks
• Strong writing and communication for major donors
• Genuine interest in SRHR and DEI
• Strong organizational and time management
• CRM and office software proficiency, Salesforce a plus

Responsibilities

• Qualify, cultivate, and close gifts from individual donors with major capacity
• Manage a planned giving portfolio and secure bequest pledges
• Write donor materials and proposals for major gift prospects
• Plan and support donor events for major and principal gifts
• Maintain timely donor records in the database
• Travel up to 30% for donor visits within the US
