Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA is seeking a full-time Philanthropy Officer to manage a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and drive mission-aligned support for our programs. You will cultivate relationships, solicit gifts, and present compelling proposals to secure five- and six-figure gifts.

Ideal candidates bring at least five years of fundraising experience, a track record of frontline success, and excellent communication and relationship-management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience, frontline.
• Track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work with Trustees and donors.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
• Adherence to AFP Code of Ethical Standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 mid-level to major gift prospects ($10,000–$100,000+).
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and institutional donors through personalized engagement strategies.
• Conduct regular donor meetings, both in-person and virtually, to deepen relationships and meet solicitation and stewardship targets.
• Develop and present tailored proposals and stewardship materials.
• Support the design and implementation of annual fundraising strategies as well as cultivation and recognition events.
• Maintain records in Raiser's Edge NXT; collaborate with internal teams.
