Job summary

Hamline University seeks a University Gift Officer to grow relationships with alumni and friends, focusing on gifts of $50,000 and above. The role manages a large donor portfolio, conducts frequent meetings, and guides gifts from solicitation through stewardship.

Expect evenings/weekends and travel to donor locations; you will collaborate with academic leadership and manage events while aligning donor interests with Hamline's priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 4+ years of professional development or major gift experience.
• Evenings and weekends as required.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.
• 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and Google Apps.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects (appx. 125–175).
• Conduct 100–125 personal donor meetings per year.
• Solicit all gift types; prepare proposals and gift agreements.
• Develop stewardship plans and materials.
• Collaborate with campus leadership for donor engagement.
• Lead or participate in events, evenings and weekends.
• Travel to assigned donor territories.
• Stay current with development best practices.
